Episode 10, which is right in the middle of the book, is known as The Wandering Rocks, which is an Odyssey reference, of course, as well as a reference to the overview of various characters going about their business, walking around Dublin. If Ulysses were a Baz Luhrmann film, this would be the sequence in which the camera zig-zag pans over the ensemble cast, giving quick snapshots of their random doings and conversations. I didn't like it, just as I don't like Baz Luhrmann's particular directing style. But I will plow on, and see if the next episode has anything more readable in it.
